SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- A former Chinese government official who grabbed a young girl was drunk, an investigation found.
Lin Jiaxiang, former Communist Party chief and deputy director of the Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration, was fired from his post after a drunken incident last week in which he was accused of child molestation.
Xinhua reported Wednesday that photos and video clips of the incident show Lin attempting to force an 11-year-old girl into the men's restroom at a restaurant.
"The video captured by the restaurant's closed-circuit cameras shows no evidence of molestation, which is in line with both Lin's and (the girl's) statements," a police spokesman said.
