ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Casey Anthony's lawyer asked an Orlando, Fla., judge to delay her check-fraud trial as she awaits a separate trial in the disappearance of her daughter.
Anthony was not in court during Wednesday's brief hearing, according to WKMG-TV in Orlando.
Anthony, who is accused of murdering her still-missing 3-year-old child, Caylee Anthony, is also charged with forging checks that belonged to a friend.
There was no immediate ruling on the postponement request.
The disappearance of Caylee Anthony has drawn strong media attention in the United States. Her young mother did not report her missing for nearly a month and claimed she had been spirited away by her nanny.
In the meantime, Casey Anthony allegedly indulged herself in socializing with boyfriends and other pals, seemingly unconcerned that her little girl was missing, officials said.
