McCain, Obama camps preparing for wins

WASHINGTON, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Republican presidential nominee John McCain will make a comeback and win Tuesday's election despite lagging in the polls, his campaign manager predicted Sunday.

In an appearance on ABC's "This Week" program, McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said the Arizona senator's win will not be his first resurgence in the race "but the last for this election cycle."

Also appearing on the Sunday talk show was Obama campaign manager David Axelrod. He said Obama, who leads in the national polls, has a good chance Tuesday of winning the necessary 270 electoral college votes needed to become president.

"The main thing I worry about is complacency," he said. "I don't want people to hear me or anyone and assume that this campaign is over. If we are casual about this and we don't go to the polls and make our voices heard, then we could get a result that the polls don't project. And that's my concern. That's why we're hopscotching all over the country."
