TEHRAN, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Iran's defense industry has been called upon to make a technological breakthrough by the leader of the Islamic Revolution, an official said.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called for the development of exclusively developed military equipment, said Brig. Gen. Abdolrahim Moussavi, Iran's deputy army commander.
"One method to win an all-out war is to employ weapons which the enemy is unfamiliar with," Iran's state-run PRESS-TV quoted Moussavi as saying Saturday.
The Iranian official also said 109 types of innovative military equipment have been added to the Iranian arsenal during the past two years.
Iran has a better geopolitical and strategic advantage over the enemy in the event of an attack on Iranian soil," Moussavi said.
"Different locations outside Iranian borders have been chosen as targets and should the occasion arise Iran's armed forces will strike these bases," he said.
