HARARE, Zimbabwe, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Powerful members of the international community say the ongoing dispute over the formation of the Zimbabwean Cabinet must be resolved.

Ki-moon said Wednesday that pressure was on Mugabe to meet international expectations regarding the formation of his power-sharing government.

"I sincerely hope that President Mugabe will no longer disappoint the international community," the U.N. official said.

The U.S. State Department meanwhile addressed the 21 African leaders who witnessed the official signing of the governmental deal, saying those officials also have a responsibility to ensure Zimbabwe adapts the deal as soon as possible.

SW Radio Africa said the formation of the government and Cabinet is vital as Zimbabwe is mired in an economic crisis that had left millions of citizens facing poverty and starvation.
