BARRIE, Ontario, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Canadian police say a 15-year-old Ontario boy missing for 17 days in a parental dispute over his Xbox usage could be in the United States.
Brandon Crisp left his home in Barrie, 70 miles north of Toronto, Oct. 13 after his parents took away the electronic device because of his obsessive behavior with it.
Police and more than 1,500 volunteers have searched the rural area and more than 1,000 tips have come in, the Barrie Advance reported.
Due to the international nature of the boy's favorite interactive shooting game, "Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," Sgt. Dave Goodbrand told the Examiner it's possible the boy is with a fellow player across the border.
"We don't know where he is, so there is that potential that he could have gone south of the border," Goodbrand said. "That's a scenario we have to consider, whether he went across on his own will or against his will."
He said foul play isn't suspected.
The boy's story has been posted on the "America's Most Wanted" television show Web site, but a show spokesman told the Advance there were no immediate plans to do a video segment.
