Wait list for Obama election night event

CHICAGO, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Many hoping to get tickets to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's election night bash in Chicago's Grant Park had tough luck -- they're gone.

The message on a Democratic Party Web site registration page for tickets to the event read Wednesday:

"This is a wait list. If any tickets become available before the event, you will be notified. If you are not notified with further ticketing information, we will not be able to offer you a ticket."

Electronic registration for tickets to the Nov. 4 event at Hutchinson Field in Grant Park was on the Democratic Party's Web site.

Obama's campaign hasn't answered media questions about how many tickets were distributed nor how many people could be accommodated at the site, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday.
