Mother said Josh Powell threatened her
TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Ali Larijani, speaker of the Iranian Parliament, says the United States should be made to pay a price for its military strikes in Syria and Pakistan.
Addressing the opening session of the Majlis, or parliament, Wednesday, Larijani noted that Washington has repeatedly used drone aircraft to attack targets inside Pakistan in the past two months, killing civilians on the "pretext of anti-terrorism operations," the official Iranian news agency IRNA reported.
Larijani also condemned a U.S. military mission in Syria last weekend in which seven people were reportedly killed during what officials said was a move to kill an Iraqi militant who funneled fighters and funding from Syria into Iraq.
Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of Iran's Expediency Council, also condemned the U.S. "aggression" in Pakistan and Syria, saying Washington was "disturbing world peace and stability," IRNA reported.
As Rajsanjani addressed a meeting of the International Ambassadors of Peace Organization in Tehran, he reportedly said that the world is "in dire need of peace as nations are tired of conflicts and wars."
