WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., afflicted with brain cancer, is planning to spend the next few weeks at his second home in Washington, his aides say.
Kennedy had been staying at his Massachusetts home as he undergoes treatments for the aggressive malignancy.
"His doctors are very pleased with his progress, and he will receive his treatments here," Kennedy spokeswoman Melissa Wagoner told The Boston Globe Monday.
Kennedy, who was to arrive in Washington Tuesday afternoon, is expected to remain until the Thanksgiving holiday when he will return to Massachusetts, Wagoner said.
It wasn't known whether Kennedy would return to work. The Senate is in recess for the remainder of the year.
In July, he returned to the Senate chamber to cast a tie-breaking vote on a key piece of Medicare legislation. He was hospitalized briefly last month after suffering a seizure.
