Gore admits climate figures 'ballpark'
Tuesday, December 15
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Prosecutors in Dubai Monday asked a judge to increase the sentences for two Britons convicted of having sex on a beach.
Michelle Palmer, 36, of Oakham, Rutland, and Vince Acors, 34, of Bromley, south east London, initially were sentenced to three months in prison when they were convicted this month in Dubai's Court of First Instance, The Sun reported.
Prosecutors, whose appeal is to be heard Nov. 18, say three months behind bars is not punishment enough, said Hassan Matter, the lawyer representing Palmer and Acors.
Palmer and Acors were arrested July 5 after police allegedly saw them having sex on Jumeirah Beach several hours after they met at a champagne brunch, the Sun reported.
