ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- A U.S. drone aircraft attack killed seven people Sunday night at a compound along Pakistan's northern tribal border region, a Pakistani military official said.

The military source, who was not identified, said missiles from the unmanned aircraft struck the village of Badar in South Waziristan, CNN reported.

South Waziristan is said to be the stronghold of Pakistani Taliban leader Beulah Mehsud.

White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe had no comment on the report, and a CIA spokesman also declined comment, the U.S. network said.

The alleged attack comes less than a week after two missiles fired from a drone hit a religious school, killing eight people and injuring six others.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tribune reported Sunday that security forces killed eight extremists and injured several others in Bajaur Agency.

Officials were targeting extremists' hideouts in the Charmang, Zoorband and Sarlara areas of Tehsil Nawagai.
