CHICAGO, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- U.S. Oscar-winning actress/singer Jennifer Hudson Sunday said she and her family would offer a $100,000 reward for the return of her 7-year-old nephew.
Julian King has been missing since Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson, were shot and killed Friday in Chicago.
A publicist for the star of "Dreamgirls" said in a statement that all inquiries should be directed to the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.
Jennifer Hudson appealed in a blog entry on MySpace for help in finding her nephew, the newspaper said.
"If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately," she said. "Once again thank you all for being there for us through this tough time."
Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia Hudson, issued a public plea Saturday for information about her son, the Tribune said.
"I don't care who you are, just let my baby go," she said. "Please, I just want my son."
Julia Hudson said she remains hopeful her child is safe.
"I have to believe that he's OK," she said. "I have that hope that he's OK, I have that faith that he's OK."
CNN said Julia Hudson's husband, William Balfour, has been taken into custody in relation to the shootings and his stepson's disappearance.
Balfour's mother, Michele Davis-Balfour, denied her son had any involvement in the deadly shootings, CNN said.
"Out of no means did my son do this. This heinous crime to this family is unbelievable. It's unbearable," she said.
