BAGHDAD, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A "sticky bomb' attached to his car wounded an Iraqi general Saturday and killed his driver, the Interior Ministry reported.

A ministry official said Gen. Abdul Karim Jabbar was seriously injured, CNN reported. The bomb exploded in central Baghdad where U.S. forces patrol on Saturdays.

Bombs affixed to cars with magnets have been dubbed "sticky bombs" by U.S. soldiers.

Also Saturday, a firefight between Iraqi security forces and militants left a bystander dead in Al-Shaab, a neighborhood in the northeastern part of the city. A roadside bomb at a nearby checkpoint left a child dead and four Iraqi soldiers injured.

Another roadside bomb killed two Iraqi soldiers on patrol in eastern Baghdad. One soldier was wounded.
