MOSCOW, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- An airplane traveling across Russia has been hijacked by a passenger who wants the airplane to fly to Vienna, a law enforcement source said Friday.
The source told Interfax the alleged in-flight hijacking occurred as the Boeing 735 airplane was flying to Moscow from the Russian resort of Adler.
The airplane had been scheduled to arrive in Moscow about 6 p.m. Friday and authorities have dispatched emergency personnel to an area airport as a precaution.
Russian Transportation Ministry spokesman Timur Khikmatov told the Russian news agency details regarding the reported hijacking are scarce as the incident was being investigated.
