WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A new ad for Republican presidential nominee John McCain uses Sen. Joe Biden's words to suggest that Democratic candidate Barack Obama is a risky choice.
Biden, talking to supporters at a fundraiser last week, said that Obama would be tested as President John F. Kennedy was -- and that it would be earlier in his presidency.
McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, seized on Biden's words, mentioning them over and over in speeches.
Now, a campaign commercial uses an edited version of Biden's remarks run over photographs of leaders such as Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran and footage of terrorist attacks, CNN reported. Biden's words end with "I guarantee you it's going to happen."
"It doesn't have to happen," the ad concludes. "Vote McCain."
Recent polls show that voters are less likely to perceive Obama as a risky presidential choice than they had been, while McCain is more likely to be seen as risky.
