WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Cindy McCain released part of her 2007 U.S. tax return and Joe Biden offered some medical data but both campaigns say more documents should be released.
Campaign aides for Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain have accused the other camp of withholding documents that would provide insight into the personal and professional lives of the candidates and their running mates and offer a measure of transparency, Politico reported Thursday.
Among the documents sought:
-- Obama's legal clients from when he was a civil rights lawyer in Chicago.
-- GOP running mate Sarah Palin's e-mail messages after charges arose that she used her private e-mail account to circumvent the state's public record laws.
-- Biden's earmark requests because he hasn't released his earmark requests made before fiscal year 2009 while Obama, McCain and Palin have.
-- John and Cindy McCain's tax returns.
-- Obama's records from when he was an Illinois state senator.
-- Palin's college transcripts. She attended five schools in three years before graduating from the University of Idaho in 1987 with a degree in journalism.
-- Obama's Columbia University thesis dealing with Soviet nuclear disarmament.
-- More complete medical records for all candidates.
-- Obama's list of small donors.
-- McCain flight records after it was reported his campaign used a legal loophole to travel about the country in a jet owned by company controlled by his wife, Cindy McCain.
