Labor minister survives bombing in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Ten people died Thursday in a bombing that targeted the motorcade of Iraqi Labor Minister Mahmoud al-Radhi, who survived, the Labor Ministry said.

A lone driver of a bomb-laden vehicle rammed into the minister's convoy, reported the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA. In addition to the dead, at least 20 people were wounded and buildings near the blast were damaged.

Radhi wasn't with the convoy when it was attacked in a commercial area of central Baghdad, CNN reported.
