DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- An Ohio woman has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for trying to sell her daughter's sexual services.
A judge made the sentence consecutive to a one-year term given Rachel White for violation of probation on a drug charge, the Dayton Daily News reported. She also received 180 days for child endangerment, to be served concurrently.
During the hearing Monday, White noted she was only convicted of attempting to prostitute a minor, not the actual thing, setting off the judge.
"Attempting to whore out your daughter -- It's disgusting," Judge A.J. Wagner said.
"Absolutely," White responded.
"Good," Wagner told her. "I'm glad you understand that."
White was arrested in April after Dayton police got a tip that she was offering her 17-year-old daughter for sex. A co-defendant, Michael Melvin, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year in prison.
