NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- New York police allege a 76-year-old woman skilled in purse snatching and pickpocketing has been arrested for the 37th time.

The 5-foot-6-inch, 128-pound woman has an estimated 20 aliases and changes her hair color as often as she changes her name, police told The New York Post.

Katherine Kelly was arrested during a sting operation at a market on Broadway, where store officials had complained of pickpockets working the aisles, the Post reported Tuesday.

The woman, who has had 30 convictions during the last three decades, allegedly snatched a wallet left by undercover police in a shopping cart and shoved it in her bra, sources said.

"She was a pickpocket terrorist and had to be caught," one officer told the Post.
