NEWARK, Ohio, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Prosecutors said a Newark, Ohio, high school student accused of distributing nude photos of herself via cell phone will not have to register as a sex offender.
Licking County Prosecutor Ken Oswalt said he and Jill Cochran, a lawyer for the 15-year-old Licking Valley High School student, reached a deal that will keep the girl's name out of the sex offender registry, The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch reported Tuesday.
No other details of the settlement were made public.
The girl had been accused of delinquency counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and possession of criminal tools after she allegedly used her cell phone to distribute nude photos of herself to classmates.
