Quake rattles south-central Pennsylvania

DILLSBURG, Pa., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The small southeastern Pennsylvania town of Dillsburg was shaken by its second small earthquake in two weeks, a geologist studying the quake pattern says.

Sunday morning's quake measured between 2 and 3 on the Richter scale, said geologist Charles Scharnberger, adding it is not unusual to have several earthquakes in a short period of time.

Geologists plan to canvass the area, speaking to neighbors who felt Sunday's quake and a similar temblor Oct. 5. From that information, they can map the quakes' area of activity, WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pa., reported Monday.

"There's some kind of source for the earthquake, but we don't have ways at the surface to find a fault line as you can in California," Scharnberger said.

No one was hurt in the latest quake.
