NEW YORK, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Comedian Tina Fey may be able to study her latest subject more closely when Sarah Palin drops by "Saturday Night Live" this week, several media reports say.

CNN's Larry King broke the news Thursday that the Republican vice presidential nominee will be on NBC's long-running late-night staple Saturday, "Access Hollywood" reported.

SNL's "Weekend Update" anchor Seth Meyers said he'd love to have the politician on the show.

"The door is open if she would like to come and make an appearance," Meyers said of Palin in an interview with "Access Hollywood." "We heard from her people that she really liked the first time that Tina played her. We haven't heard from her since then."

SNL alum Fey has spoofed the Alaska governor in three of the show's recent opening segments and Palin has commented on the parodies while on the stump.

It was unknown whether Fey also will appear on Saturday's program, CNN reported.
