ANKARA, Turkey, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Five Turkish soldiers died Thursday in an ambush by Kurdish rebels on a mini-bus with troops aboard in southern Turkey, Turkish military officials said.
The Turkish Army Command said local forces in the Hakkari, where the attack occurred, were searching for the attackers, Iraqi television station al-Sumaria reported.

The ambush was the second such attack this month, military officials said. Up to 17 Turkish soldiers were killed in the region earlier in October.
