Suspected U.S. strike kills 4 in Pakistan

KABUL, Pakistan, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- A suspected U.S. missile strike Thursday killed up to four people in Pakistan's South Waziristan tribal region, witnesses and officials said.

Residents said they saw two houses hit in the village of Saam, killing and wounding several people, including women and children, CNN reported.

An intelligence official in Wana, the capital of South Waziristan, confirmed the attack, saying four civilians died and seven were wounded.

U.S. Air Force Maj. John Redfield, a military spokesman for U.S. forces Afghanistan in Kabul, didn't comment on the reported attack, CNN said.
