WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Two Canadian paramedics have been charged with soliciting sexual favors while working in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in separate incidents, police said.
The two men, 32 and 41, weren't identified by police but were charged after allegedly soliciting an undercover female police officer posing as a prostitute on Sept. 10 and Sept. 26, the Winnipeg Sun reported.
Police spokesman Constable Jason Michalyshen told the Sun officers were investigating claims sexual favors were sought in exchange for prescription narcotics.
Jim Brennan, chief of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, said both men are on paid administrative leave and a meeting Wednesday would determine if they should be placed on unpaid leave or fired, the Sun said.
The provincial Manitoba Health agency suspended the men's licenses pending the outcome of their court cases.
One is to appear in court Nov. 3 and the other Nov. 24, the report said.
