LAKEVILLE, Minn., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- The daughter of a John McCain supporter who called the Democratic U.S. presidential candidate an Arab says she fears for her mother's safety.

In a news release promoting an n "Inside Edition" interview that aired Tuesday, the TV program said the daughter of 75-year-old Gayle Quinnell claims the family is terrified for her after she called Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois an "Arab" during a McCain campaign event in the Minneapolis suburb of Lakeville Friday.

Quinnell's daughter, whom the syndicated television show did not identify, said her mother has received death threats. The family has told Quinnell not to say anything to anyone or grant interviews.

The promotion didn't say whether authorities were investigating the allegations.
