ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida are investigating the crash of a small plane that lost power shortly after take-off from the Kissimmee airport.

The single-engine Cessna went down east of the airport in a soccer field Sunday and may have hit a goal post as the pilot tried to land, The Orlando Sentinel reports.

Kissimmee Deputy Fire Chief Jeremy Donovan says a group of people playing softball nearby pulled the pilot from the wreckage.

He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

The name of the pilot was not immediately available.
