ORMOND BEACH, Fla., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Police in central Florida searched Monday for a carjacker who dangled a 10-month-old child upside down by her feet outside a sport utility vehicle.
The baby's mother said she was forced to beg for her daughter's life before the man who hijacked her SUV would release the baby, WKMG-TV in Orlando reported.
Alyssa Gould told police the man ambushed her Friday while she sat in her Isuzu Trooper at an intersection in Ormond Beach.
"The next thing I know, this guy is at my door and he opens up my driver's side door and sticks a gun in my side," Gould said.
The carjacker fled on foot when the SUV ran out of gas several miles away.
Gould described the suspect as having shoulder-length brown hair, a thin pockmarked face and a bulbous nose.
Police had not released a composite sketch of the suspect.
