BAGHDAD, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- A series of attacks in Baghdad Sunday killed at least 13 people and left 20 people injured, officials say.

An unidentified interior ministry official said nine people were killed and 13 were injured when a car bomb exploded in an outdoor market, CNN reported.

Two Iraqi soldiers were killed by a sniper in Baghdad's Mansue neighborhood and two members of the Sons of Iraq were killed by unidentified armed men in Baghdad's Dora neighborhood.

The Sons of Iraq are former Sunni Arab insurgents who are now aiding U.S. forces in their fight against al-Qaida in Iraq.

Meanwhile, an anonymous official told CNN a roadside bomb in Baghdad's Zaiyouna neighborhood Sunday injured seven people, including five police officers.
