Iran names new Russian envoy

MOSCOW, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Iran's new ambassador to Moscow says his country is committed to deepening ties with Russia.

Mahmoud Reza Sadjadi presented his credentials Friday at the Russian Foreign Ministry and held talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin on military, technical and nuclear policy, RIA Novosti reported Saturday.

Sadjadi and Borodavkin both "expressed mutual willingness to further strengthen the multi-layered relations of good-neighborliness and partnership between Moscow and Tehran," said a release from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
