Elvis dad's estate re-opened

MEMPHIS, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A Tennessee judge has granted a woman's request to re-open the estate of Elvis Presley's father after she claimed DNA evidence proving a relationship.

Alice Elizabeth Tiffin, 46, who recently changed her name to Eliza Presley, claims to possess DNA evidence that proves Vernon Presley, father of the rock 'n' roll icon, is also her father, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported Thursday.

However, Probate Court Judge Karen Webster said there is no money remaining in the estate and the court will not make a decision on heirship.

"This may be the wrong court to proceed in," Webster said.

Tiffin told the court she was more interested in being legally recognized as Vernon Presley's daughter than sharing in any money that she might be entitled to by the relationship.

William Bradley Jr., a lawyer for Elvis Presley Enterprises and Lisa Marie Presley-Lockwood, said Tiffin's "claim is absolutely without any merit."
