BAGHDAD, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A car bomb exploded in a Baghdad marketplace Friday, killing at least 12 people and injuring more than 20 others, police said.

Police said the bombing in Dora, a predominantly Sunni district, destroyed several shops, the BBC reported.

A second blast, near a minibus in the same area of the city, killed one person and injured 12, police said.

The two bombings came in the wake of a Thursday blast that killed Saleh al-Ogaili, a member of Parliament.
