Poll: Obama has an 11-point lead

PRINCETON, N.J., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Democratic U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama has an 11-point lead over Republican John McCain, a poll indicates.

The Gallup Poll Daily tracking survey shows Obama leading McCain 52 percent to 41 percent.

The numbers include a day of polling following Tuesday's presidential debate in Nashville, which separate polls indicated Obama won by a wide margin.

"Signifying a general stability in the race, Obama has maintained a share of the vote between 48 percent and 52 percent over the last two weeks, while McCain's share during that same time period has been between 41 percent and 45 percent," Gallup's Frank Newport wrote in an analysis.

The poll, conducted Monday through Wednesday of 2,761 registered voters, has maximum margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
