Ennio and Joan Venezia said they do not blame anyone for the death of their son, Jason Venezia, 19, who died after drinking more than a pint of vodka in 20 minutes in May, but rather his death highlights an ongoing problem at universities, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.
Joan Venezia said she and her family "feel that there is an issue surrounding the heavy drinking culture within university life which needs to be addressed."
"Students need to know that their drinking games can lead to sudden death," she said.
The couple said they support efforts to raise the country's drinking age from 18 to 21.
