DHARAMSALA, India, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- The Dalai Lama is to have a routine medical examination in New Delhi, a spokesman for the Tibetan spiritual leader says.

The Dalai Lama, 73, is to be examined Tuesday but will not need to be hospitalized, said Tenzin Takiha.

The Dalai Lama, who lives in exile in Dharamsala, India, was hospitalized in Mumbai in August for stomach pain, CNN reported Sunday.
