BEIJING, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- There is little chance five missing sailors survived the sinking of their freighter in the East China Sea, Chinese authorities said Saturday.

The Panama-registered Helios 3 sank Monday while transporting 6,000 tons of wood from Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, to Jiaxing Port in Zhejiang with a crew from Myanmar, Indonesia and South Korea, Xinhua reported.

Nine sailors were rescued several days ago and the body of the ship's captain recovered, China's state-run news agency reported.
