Lee suggested the finance ministers conduct a tripartite meeting as the U.S. financial crisis created a rippling effect globally, Yonhap New Agency reported.

Lee also said he wanted to coordinate a meeting of financial ministers from South Korea and Russia quickly, the South Korean news agency reported.

Lee and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev agreed to conduct a bilateral meeting on financial matters when Lee was in Moscow Monday.
