Bloomberg announced recently that he wants a third term in office.
The New York Post said Friday that a new Marist poll found that 46 percent of 413 respondents supported Bloomberg's request for a change in the law. Forty-four percent were against the mayor's third-term attempt.
Poll results also indicated that 50 percent of respondents supported the use of term limits in general, while 35 percent voted against such limiting measures.
The Post said the poll, which had a margin of error of 5 percent, found that Bloomberg earned the voting support of 56 percent of respondents when compared with mayoral candidate, U.S Rep. Anthony Weiner. The New York Democrat earned 30 percent compared with the current mayor, the newspaper said.
