YUCAIPA, Calif., Oct. 2 (UPI) -- An earthquake measuring a 4.1 on the Richter scale was centered near Yucaipa, Calif., the U.S. Geological Survey said Thursday.

The USGA said the mild earthquake occurred early Thursday morning outside the California city and resulted in no reported deaths or injuries, KESQ-TV, Palm Desert, reported.

While tremors were felt in several other cities in the region, no significant damage has been reported.

KESQ-TV said it had received multiple calls from viewers who said the quake had been strong enough to wake them up.
