Western Ohio rocked by small quake

BOTKINS, Ohio, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Authorities say a 2.9 magnitude earthquake caused no reported damage or injuries when it rumbled through Ohio's Miami Valley.

The quake occurred Monday night in Shelby County near the towns of Botkins and Anna, Michael Hansen, of the Ohio Seismic Network, told WHIO-TV, Dayton, Ohio.

The Anna Seismic Zone in western Ohio experiences mild to moderate earthquakes several times per decade, Hansen said, noting the area's largest quake in 1937 registered a 5.1 magnitude.
