ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- The father of Republican U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says his daughter is "ready to do anything," including White House service.
While the Alaska governor has been criticized by Democrats as being unprepared to be vice president, Chuck Heath said his daughter has always been the type of person who can adapt to any situation, CBS's "The Early Show" reported Monday.
"She's ready to do anything she wants to be. And she perseveres, she works so hard, she learns so fast. Yeah, ... I don't worry about that at all," he said.
Sally Heath, Palin's mother, said her daughter has been misrepresented in the media since being announced as Republican presidential candidate John McCain's running mate.
"I hope the world gets to know the real person, because she is a remarkable girl," she told the "Early Show."
The Heaths, who live in Wasilla, Alaska, where Palin once served as mayor, also complimented comedian Tina Fey for her recent "Saturday Night Live" portrayal of their famous daughter.
"I thought it was kinda cute," Chuck Heath said. "Tina Fey did a good job!"
