Body in sandpit may be missing stripper

MALONE, N.Y., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Investigators say they believe a body found Saturday in New York just south of the Canadian border is that of a Quebec stripper who vanished four years ago.

Lt. Francois Dore of the Surete du Quebec said bones and clothing were discovered in a sandpit in Malone, N.Y., the Montreal Gazette reported. Detectives planned to return to the area Monday to determine whether other evidence could be found.

Nathalie Fournier, 28, was last seen in 2004 getting into a truck with an English-speaking man outside the strip club where she worked. Adam Morris, 30, of Malone had long been a suspect in Fournier's disappearance and presumed killing but police had no proof she was dead.

Morris was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges. New York State police said he admitted killing Fournier while he was being questioned.

The search in the sandpit, which began Thursday, was carried out jointly by New York and Quebec police. Dore said the next step is to confirm that the remains are those of Fournier.
