NEW YORK, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- New York City's police commissioner says more than 400 officers will get Taser training following the death of a naked man shot with one of the stun guns.
Iman Morales, 35, fell head-first to his death Wednesday after being shot by police while standing unclothed and waving a light bulb from atop a storefront security gate in Brooklyn.
City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly has ordered the officers of the Emergency Service Unit to review tactics and rules concerning encounters with emotionally disturbed people, The New York Times reported Saturday.
Kelly also has replaced Robert Lukach as head of the unit, naming Deputy Chief James Molloy as the new commanding officer, the Times reported.
The officers involved have been placed on leave as the department investigates whether the shooting violated guidelines prohibiting Taser use when someone could fall from an elevated surface, the Times reported.
