JERUSALEM, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Israeli President Shimon Peres said Thursday that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad simply unites people against his country.

In an interview with Israel Radio, Peres predicted that Ahmadinejad will vanish "like a gust of wind." He said the United States must stop Ahmadinejad.

Ahmadinejad and Peres both addressed the U.N. General Assembly in New York this week, the Iranian Tuesday and Peres Wednesday. Peres, in his speech, said Ahmadinejad's speech included "the darkest anti-Semitic libel," Haaretz reported.

Peres compared Ahmadinejad's claims about Israel to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic work written more than a century ago.
