Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, meeting on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly, agreed to resolve outstanding issues, Pakistan's state-run Associated Press of Pakistan reported Thursday.
The peace process, initiated in 2004, has stalled because of numerous terrorist attacks and border incidents.
The APP report said the meeting between the two leaders was described as cordial and that the two covered a wide range of issues, including the peace process, terrorism and other disputes.
It was Singh's first meeting with Zardari, who ecently replaced Pervez Musharraf as president. Zardari is the husband of slain Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
