SEOUL, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- South Korea has detected 74 foreign terror suspects over the past five years, government officials said in an intelligence document.

A National Intelligence Service document made public by Parliament revealed among the terror suspects were some linked to al-Qaida, Yonhap News Service reported Sunday.

The once-classified report said the 74 terror suspects were either arrested or expelled on 19 separate occasions since 2003. Action was taken against the suspects for such things as plotting terror attacks, drug trafficking and collecting intelligence on U.S. troops in South Korea.

The report marks the first time that South Korean officials have acknowledged terrorist activity on its soil.
