COLUMBIA, S.C., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- A plane crash in Columbia, S.C., has killed four people and left former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in critical condition, officials say.

Beth Frits, a spokeswoman for Georgia's Joseph Still Burn Center, said Barker and singer Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein were transported to the medical facility Saturday with extensive burns leaving them in critical condition, CNN reported.

Barker and Goldstein were on board a Learjet that crashed during takeoff at Columbia Metropolitan Airport Friday. The crash killed two crew members and two unidentified passengers, the National Transportation Safety Board says.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the jet was taking off for a flight to Van Nuys, Calif., when sparks were seen on the runway.

She told CNN the jet left the ground briefly, then crashed on a nearby road. NTSB officials were en route to the crash site to investigate.
