Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni vots in Kadima elections in Tel Aviv

JERUSALEM, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, the new Kadima Party leader, said she'd meet with the party's three primary runners-up to try to form a united front.

Livni aides said negotiations were expected to begin negotiations to either form a new coalition or for the preservation of the current government, The Jerusalem Post reported Thursday.

Meir Sheetrit, one of the primary runners-up, said Kadima "should form a coalition" because failure to do so would endanger the party's existence.

Livni Thursday also phoned Labor Party Chairman Ehud Barak to discuss possible future cooperation between the parties, the Post said.
