PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- The corruption trial of Pennsylvania state Sen. Vincent Fumo was postponed after U.S. District Court Judge William Yohn Jr. was hospitalized, officials said.

Yohn, 73, has complained recently of virus-like symptoms, Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday.

Jury selection and opening statements were scheduled for Monday. The trial is expected to last about three months, the newspaper reported.

Fumo, 65, is charged with 139 counts of conspiracy, fraud, obstructing justice and tax violations. An associate of Fumo, Ruth Arnao, is the former head of Citizens' Alliance for Better Neighborhoods.

Fumo is accused of defrauding the state Senate by having legislative aides do personal and political work. He is also accused of using Citizens' Alliance funds as his own.
