ELYRIA, Ohio, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Former Democratic U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton says the battleground state of Ohio can move the country beyond its current "failed policies."
In an Elyria, Ohio, campaign appearance Sunday for her party's nominee, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, the New York senator told voters this year's election "is going to be a game-changer," The Washington Post reported.
"We have the opportunity to go beyond the failed policies of the last eight years," she said. "I hear a lot of talk about this election, people asking, 'Who are you for?' That's not right question. The right question is: 'Who is for you?'"
Clinton's appearance, in which she barely mentioned Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, highlighted presidential campaign activities Sunday, the newspaper said Palin, the governor of Alaska, met with staffers for GOP presidential nominee John McCain to prepare for a Tuesday appearance on conservative radio host Sean Hannity's show.
The Arizona senator, meanwhile, attended a NASCAR event in New Hampshire, meeting with drivers before the race, the Post reported.
